What is coaching all about?
Why Barefoot?
Others claim to be “barefoot coaches”, meaning easy-going or something. But in my case, I really have intentionally gone without shoes since 2012! Even in the winter…that’s called “coldfooting.”
Coaching didn't make me a "barefooter", but a coaching mindset led me to question something I thought was obvious: "Why am I wearing shoes?" I read an article that described the incredible anatomical complexity of the human foot. That was new awareness for me. Another question: "What about health codes and such?" So I investigated and learned that no state has a health code requiring shoes in restaurants, grocery stores, gas stations, etc. More new awareness...Another question, "What would happen if I stopped wearing shoes?" So I took action. Just for a week I tried it...and I loved it! I was intrigued by the new sensations I felt. It also gave me a sense of simplicity and presence.
And to me, this is a great example of what coaching is about - thinking outside the box, being simple and present on calls, asking powerful questions that will challenge assumptions and create new awareness, and moving you to action on your discoveries.
Let me introduce myself…
